Job summary

The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Television Animation in Glendale, CA seeks an experienced Art Director to lead the visual direction and oversee the design team for a fast-paced animation series. Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in artistic animation production.
• Experience leading a team.
• Experience working with vendor animation studios.
• Knowledge of drawing software that includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Harmony and 3D technology.
• A broad knowledge of artistic styles, latest technology and film is essential.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to partner with Creatives and Executives, collaborate with peers, and manage and mentor artists.
• Ability to travel outside of the country.

Responsibilities

• Lead the episodic look and mood in collaboration with Executive Producer and Director.
• Oversee the design team to maintain consistent style from opening to end credits.
• Approve color backgrounds and color work for characters, props and effects.
• Review outlines/scripts, attend storyboard pitches, and flag design or complexity issues.
• Maintain and drive the production schedule to ensure cost-effective, timely production.
• Collaborate with vendor studios and internal teams; create tools and guidelines for achieving the required look.
