Express is inviting rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students to join its PHOENIX Art Direction Internship at the Columbus Corporate Headquarters for Summer 2027. This 10-week paid program offers hands-on experience in eCommerce, editorial shoots, and cross-functional collaboration with experienced professionals.

You will work with art directors on set, organize assets, learn Capture One, and help shape brand visuals across social, marketing, and product channels.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior/Senior undergraduate or graduate student.
• Available for full 10-week internship (June 2–August 5).
• Willing to relocate to Columbus, OH; housing not provided.
• Preferred GPA at or above 3.2.

Responsabilités

• Work with Art Directors to gain on‑set experience with eCommerce and editorial sets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (photography, styling, production, video, social, content strategy, and design).
• Concept and coordinate still life assets in line with brand standards.
• Organize photo and video assets.
• Maintain image inspiration boards and files; create art direction for brand vehicles (social, eCommerce, marketing).
• Monitor trends in editorial and eCommerce photography, social media and fashion to influence creative decisions.
• Work in Capture One software to learn the process of making photo edits.

Overview

The PHOENIX Internship Program is a 10-week, paid program that offers rising Junior and Senior undergraduates and graduate students the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced professionals while gaining exposure to a multi-brand retail company. The internship program provides hands‑on experience in an area of interest and cross‑functional collaboration while developing valuable professional skills.

PHOENIX Retail, LLC is a retail platform operating the Express and Bonobos brands worldwide. Express is a multichannel apparel brand dedicated to a design philosophy rooted in modern, confident and effortless style whether dressing for work, everyday or special occasions. The Art Direction Internship position will support our Express brand. The Summer 2027 Internship Program takes place from June 2nd to August 5th. This internship is located at our Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Requirements

• Available to:
  • Work full‑time (40 hours per week)
  • Embrace our four‑days‑in‑office approach
  • Relocate to office location (Housing accommodations not provided)
  • Commit to the entire 10 weeks of the program (June 2nd - August 5th)
• Preferred GPA at or above 3.2
