Job summary

RISD - Rhode Island School of Design is seeking a Lead, Retail Operations to oversee daily shift activities in its Providence retail stores. You will manage cash handling, stocking, merchandising and customer service while ensuring consistency with RISD’s standards and policies.

The role requires at least 3 years in retail with 1 year in a leadership capacity, knowledge of POS and inventory systems, and a commitment to inclusive service and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years retail experience
• 1 year leadership experience
• Experience with art supplies preferred
• Experience with POS systems and inventory management systems
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• RISD PCI compliance class required

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and manage daily retail shift operations
• Cashiering, stocking, and floor management
• Oversee opening/closing procedures and end-of-shift reporting
• Ensure merchandise is well presented and stock is accurate
• Support eCommerce inquiries, order fulfillment and distribution
• Coordinate with buyers and assist with inventory replenishment
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly
• Ensure safety and security standards across the stores
