Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to process incoming equipment, manage documentation, and coordinate outbound shipments. You will update GCSS-Army, DPAS, and LMP, and ensure accurate logs and compliance with Army regulations.

The role requires 2–4 years of shipping/supply experience, familiarity with Army docs, and the ability to operate forklifts and use office software. A REAL ID and CAC/clearance eligibility are expected.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate’s in logistics or supply preferred.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of shipping, receiving, or supply experience (military or contractor environment preferred).
  • Familiarity with Army supply/transportation documentation and systems highly desirable.
  • Army regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.
  • Transportation documentation and standards: DTR 4500.9-R.
  • Army systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP, TC-AIMS II.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE (OF 346 license preferred).
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and correct documentation errors.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must have a REAL ID.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain Tier1/NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
  • Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to travel within the United States as required; up to 25% travel.

  • Coordinate with transportation teams for scheduling, loading, and dispatch of shipments.
  • Verify load plans, ensure cargo is properly packaged, marked, and secured.
  • Maintain accurate logs of inbound/outbound shipments.
  • Input transactions into Army-approved logistics/transportation systems.

Job description

AGL is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to work in Anchorage, AK.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Supply Technicians, Material Coordinators, and Warehouse Specialists to ensure smooth equipment flow.
  • Communicate shipment and receipt status to site supervisors and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
  • Follow OSHA, Army, and company safety procedures during loading, unloading, and material handling.
  • Ensure compliance with HAZMAT packaging, labeling, and transportation regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe shipping/receiving work area.
Physical Demands & Working Environment:
  • Must be able tolift upto 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments.
  • Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, periodic overtime, and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
