Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least three (3) years of security, law enforcement or military experience.
• Must be able to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97 before starting work.
• Must qualify and obtain an Alaska Armed Guard License.
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with staff, customers, and clients.
• Ability to make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must stand for 8–12 hours per shift.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas and grounds visually, electronically, or audibly.
• Patrol large areas by foot.
• Ensure safety and compliance at all times.
• De-escalate situations to ensure safety of staff and customers.
• Inspect doors, windows, and other facilities to ensure security.
• Document property damage or incidents per policy.
• Notify on-site personnel of visitors and emergencies.
• Respond to emergencies to preserve life and property.
