Job summary

Westfield Insurance is seeking a Police Security Officer to provide armed, uniformed security for company properties in Ohio. The role involves operating access control, visitor management, and camera systems while coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

The position is 16 hours per week with second and third shift coverage, including holidays and weekends. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and an Ohio Peace Officer Certification; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or commensurate experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
• Ohio Peace Officer Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides armed, uniformed law enforcement and security services to ensure safety at the company’s properties.
• Maintains compliance with law enforcement and security regulations and interfaces with outside law enforcement agencies.
• Implements security strategies gathering intelligence and implementing preventative measures.
• Assists in conducting regular and highly visible security checks and patrols.
• Implements emergency plans and responds to emergencies, contacting authorities as needed.
• Assists with escorts, jump-starts, lockouts and hospitality-related assistance.
• Operates safety and security systems including access control, visitor management, fire systems, and cameras.
• Maintains duty logs, incident reports, and records in secure systems.
• Monitors access and fire alarm systems, distinguishing emergencies from non-emergencies.
• Inspects portable extinguishers, AEDs, exit lights, emergency lights, eyewash stations, safety showers and first aid kits.
