Job summary

Westfield is seeking a Police Security Officer to provide armed, uniformed law enforcement and security services at company properties. You will ensure safety for employees, contractors, consultants, and guests, interface with law enforcement, and implement preventative security measures.

The role includes operating access control, visitor management, fire systems, and surveillance. The position requires working 16 hours per week with second and third shifts, including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or commensurate experience.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Ohio Peace Officer Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides armed, uniformed law enforcement and security services to ensure safety at the company's properties.
  • Maintains compliance with law enforcement regulations and interfaces with outside agencies.
  • Implements security strategies including gathering intelligence and preventative measures.
  • Conducts regular security checks and patrols of grounds and facilities.
  • Implements emergency plans and responds to emergencies; notifies authorities as needed.
  • Assists with escorts, jump-starts, vehicle lockouts, and hospitality-related requests.
  • Operates safety and security systems (access control, visitor management, fire systems, cameras).
  • Maintains duty logs, incident reports, and records of injuries/accidents in secure systems.
  • Monitors employee access and fire alarms; distinguishes emergencies from non-emergencies.
  • Inspects fire extinguishers, AEDs, exit lights, emergency lights, eyewash stations, safety showers, and first aid kits.

Job Summary

The Police Security Officer, working under moderate supervision, is responsible to provide armed, uniformed law enforcement and security services to ensure the safety and security of employees, contractors, consultants, and guests at the company's properties. The role ensures compliance with law enforcement and security regulations and interfaces with outside law enforcement agencies and plans and implements comprehensive security strategies gathering security intelligence and implementing preventative measures. The role also performs law enforcement and administrative tasks, including operating safety and security systems such as access control, visitor management, fire systems, and security camera monitoring.

Schedule: 16 hours per week. Please note that this position requires the ability to work second and third shifts. Additionally, holidays and weekend availability will be required.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provides armed, uniformed law enforcement and security services to ensure the safety and security of employees, contractors, consultants, and guests at the company's properties.
  • Maintains compliance with law enforcement and security regulations and interfaces with outside law enforcement agencies.
  • Implements comprehensive security strategies gathering security intelligence and implementing preventative measures.
  • Assists in conducting regular and highly visible security checks and patrols of company grounds and facilities, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Implements emergency plans for the protection of people and property and responds to emergency calls and contacts the appropriate authorities for assistance.
  • Assists with various requests, including employee escorts, jump-starts, vehicle lockouts, and hospitality-related assistance.
  • Performs law enforcement and administrative tasks, including operating safety and security systems such as access control, visitor management, fire systems, and security camera monitoring.
  • Maintains accurate duty logs, incident reports, and records of injuries and accidents in secure computer-based records management systems.
  • Monitors employee access and fire alarm systems for company facilities, distinguishing between emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Conducts regular inspections of portable fire extinguishers and AEDs according to company standards and inspects exit lights, emergency lights, eyewash stations, safety showers, and first aid kits, reporting any issues or malfunctions.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
