Job summary

Allied Universal in Reading, PA is seeking a Part-Time, Armed Security Officer focused on Access Control and Patrol. You will protect clients across industries, provide excellent customer service, enforce site policies, and perform routine site patrols to deter incidents.

Required: Act 235 for PA armed posts, PA Concealed Carry permit if applicable, 21+ years old, high school diploma, and 3+ years in law enforcement/armed security (or 5+ years armed security).

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel up to 40 miles from the Greater Reading, PA area.
• Act 235 qualification required for PA positions carrying firearms.
• PA Concealed Carry Weapons permit required if post involves concealed weapon.
• Minimum age 21 for armed roles.
• Minimum 2+ years combined Armed Security / Law Enforcement / Armed Corrections or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and carry out security-related procedures on site.
• Respond to incidents calmly and solve problems as they arise.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
• Enforce site rules and protect classified information.
• Maintain proficiency with protective equipment and weapons as applicable.
• Greet and assist guests, escort visitors, and control entry/exit points.
• Follow post orders, report safety concerns and security breaches, and coordinate with client staff.
• Respond to alarms and serve as first responder; provide basic first aid when needed.
