Job summary

Southern Company—Alabama Power is seeking an NERC CIP Armed Security Operator to safeguard personnel, facilities, and critical BES assets across the Southeast. You will monitor CCTV, access control, and intrusion alerts, coordinate with security teams and public safety, and respond to PSP alarms in a 24x7 environment.

The role requires working in high-security facilities, maintaining compliance with NERC CIP standards, and demonstrating strong decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Associates degree preferred or equivalent
• Psychological and drug tests, firearms qualifications, and Internal Threat Program may be required
• Shift work, holidays, overtime, inclement weather, and on-call work.
• Minimum 3 years of law enforcement, military, private or industrial security preferred
• Must qualify for firearm use and obtain a valid state firearm permit and driver's license; must be at least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of NERC CIP-006 and CIP-014 security standards is helpful

Responsibilities

• Monitor video surveillance, access control, and intrusion alarms at PSPs
• Determine response priorities and document incident responses
• Coordinate with WPSOC and other security teams during incidents
• Maintain security records and enforce policies
• Provide armed security at Corporate Headquarters and protect BES assets
