Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Armed Security Officer in Houston, TX. The role offers fixed shifts with an option to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform, designed to supplement income or progress to a full-time career.

The job requires 3+ years of combined law enforcement/military or 5+ years armed security experience, a valid Texas Level III Armed Certification, and a background check. Pay rate is $22 per hour with opportunities to earn more via additional shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store team members by carrying out armed security-related procedures and site policies, including emergencies.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe activity to deter theft and unauthorized activity.
• Document incidents and patrols clearly and communicate findings to site leadership.

As a Armed Security Officer Retail - Clay Rd in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

• 21+ Years of Age
• Active Armed Guard Card/License
• Valid Driver's License - AU Driver Policy Requirements
• 3+ Years' Combined Law Enforcement/Corrections/Military OR 5+ Years Armed Security Experience

Job Schedule:

Mon: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store team members by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable laws.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe customer, visitor, and vendor activity to help deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
