Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer for a part-time retail post in Houston, TX. You will deter incidents, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain a visible security presence across the site, including parking lots and perimeters.

The role requires 3+ years combined law enforcement/corrections/military or 5+ years armed security experience, a Level III Armed Certification in Texas, a valid driver’s license, and compliance with AU policy.

Qualifications

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.


• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales areas, parking lots, loading areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and security-related concerns to site leadership and/or law enforcement as appropriate.


• Document incidents, patrols, and daily activities accurately while maintaining a professional presence in a busy retail environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.


• Be at least 21 years of age.


• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
