Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a part-time Armed Security Officer in Fairfax, VA to patrol sites, deter incidents, and provide professional customer service to aerospace and defense locations.

You will carry authorized equipment, respond to alarms, monitor access, complete reports, and uphold site policies while joining a reliable, agile team with opportunities to learn and grow on our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and potential hazards.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as assigned, and assist with visitor management in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures.
