Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Credentialing. This role provides reliable, flexible hours at a government site, with opportunities to pick additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents while maintaining professional customer service. The position requires an armed guard card, prior security experience, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year law enforcement, 2 years security supervisory/management, or 3 years security experience.
• Armed guard card or license required.
• College degree required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Industry-specific security training may be required.
• Licensing requirements may apply, depending on state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors per site policies.
• Monitor and control access to government facilities; verify IDs and authorizations.
• Operate access control systems, manage visitor logs, and issue badges.
• Respond to incidents calmly and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols and identify security risks.
