Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Armed Access Governance in Houston, TX. This role offers flexible hours with fixed shifts and opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

The position requires armed guard credentials, a high school diploma, and prior security or law enforcement experience. Pay rate is $18.84 per hour, with a schedule including evening shifts and optional additional shifts across sites.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, credentials, authorizations, and visitor information in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate access control, visitor, and incident records, and communicate relevant information to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
