Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer - Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in Butner, NC. You will perform armed patrols, monitor access points, and provide courteous customer service while maintaining a secure environment for government-related facilities.

The role requires a valid driver’s license and, ideally, an armed guard card. You must be 21+, pass background and drug screening, and be able to work a daytime schedule with driving duties. Pay is $21.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted under applicable laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel at a government corrections-related location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and facility concerns.
• Monitor access control points, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of movement throughout assigned areas in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and coordinating with appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate reports and complete required documentation regarding patrols, incidents, observations, and other assigned activities.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
