Job summary

Allied Universal in Burgaw, NC is seeking a Security Officer Armed Part Time Patrol Driver to protect government facilities and other client sites. The role combines armed patrols with driving responsibilities, requiring a valid armed guard license and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• At least 6 months of armed security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized individuals by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verify credentials and authorization, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident reports, communicate observations to appropriate personnel, and follow protocols for weapons handling and use of force.

What You'll Do:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
