Job summary

Tanner Health System is seeking a Security Officer Level II Armed for the night PRN shifts. The role involves maintaining safety for staff, patients and the public while handling volatile behavioral health situations.

The officer will carry Tanner Health System-issued firearms and complete required incident reports. Required are a high school diploma or GED, two years of related security experience, and the ability to obtain a Weapons Carry License.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of related security experience is required.
• Must be legally able to drive in Georgia.
• Must obtain and maintain a state Weapons Carry License.
• Annual background checks are required; psychological exam is required.
• Training within 90 days: IAHSS Advanced, BLS CPR, SCIPP, CEW body camera use.
• Armed security training with Tanner Health System firearms training is required.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English and to complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of staff, patients and the public.
• Manage situations involving volatile behavioral health characteristics.
• Carry Tanner Health System firearms.
• Complete incident, accident and investigative reports.
• Communicate with public and patients in a tactful, intelligent, and authoritative manner.
• Operate with minimal supervision under stressful conditions.
