Qualifications

• US Citizen.
• 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma.
• Successfully complete the Physical Agility Test (PAT) in accordance with local policy and Army Regulation 190-56 upon hire and annually.
• Perform 19 pushups in 2 minutes.
• Run 1.5 miles in 17 minutes, 30 seconds.
• Qualify with assigned weapons, in accordance with local policy, on the standard US Army Military Police Firearms Qualification Course upon hire and semi-annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical security for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, protecting assets from theft, fire, sabotage, or unauthorized entry.
• Patrol facilities by foot and/or vehicle to deter illegal activities.
• Protect government property, classified material, and personnel from unauthorized access or destruction.
• Report/respond to emergencies, using appropriate force as needed.
• Control ingress/egress into posted security areas.
• Respond to situations requiring physical and/or deadly force.
• Enforce rules and regulations on trespass or prohibited articles and contraband.
• Report violations of security and safety rules and respond to alarms.
