Job summary

Constellis is seeking a highly qualified Residential Armed Security Officer to join our team in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will demonstrate judgment, integrity, and situational awareness while ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and visitors.

This role requires extensive armed security experience and strong communication skills. Primary duties include roving patrols, access control, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Minimum age 21, able to meet physical demands and respond to emergencies.
• High school diploma or GED/equivalency.
• Fluent reading/writing/speaking English.
• Valid, unrestricted state driver’s license.
• Three years of military experience with honorable discharge, or one year of sworn law enforcement/armed security experience.
• Pass criminal background check and no felony or DV convictions.
• No DUIs in past three years. Honorable service separation if military.
• Pass physical fitness tests and maintain solid work history.
• Meet all specifications in the Statement of Work.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed protection for personnel, facilities, and assets per policy and client requirements.
• Conduct roving patrols, access control, and perimeter security to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment.
• Screen and process visitors according to security procedures.
• Identify, investigate, and report suspicious activity or safety concerns.
• Maintain detailed incident and daily activity reports.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and site leadership during incidents.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and exercise sound judgment in disturbances.
• Adhere to use-of-force policies and keep weapons safely.
• Support a culture of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
