Job summary

Bally's in Rhode Island is seeking a security guard to protect guests, assets, and property. You will patrol the casino, assist guests, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.

Preferred candidates include military or former law enforcement with appropriate training, RI pistol permit, and DBR licensing. Responsibilities include escorting valuables, monitoring access, and responding to incidents.

Qualifications

• Rhode Island pistol permit required.
• Must be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations and clear a background check.
• Active or former military personnel with honorable discharge and law enforcement-tied experience (3+ years).
• Armed/unarmed security guards with at least 3 years' experience in a reputable firm.
• Current or former law enforcement with academy completion and 2+ years on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for the facility, incidents, and events; escort guests and protect assets.
• Guard and escort monies, protect nightly drops from VLT machines, and deter incidents.
• Observe, report hazardous conditions and assist in investigations with law enforcement.
• Patrol entrances, gaming floor, bars, and monitor access badges per regulations.
• Assist guests with information and direct to appropriate sources.
• Detain and eject violators per company policies when necessary.

Education

Rhode Island Pistol Permit

Licensed by RIDBR with background check

Active or former military with law enforcement training

Armed or unarmed security guard experience

Correctional officer background (preferred)

DHS personnel with law enforcement training (preferred)

Law enforcement officer background with academy completion (preferred)

Job description

• First responders to matters of incident to include accidents, emergencies, medical aids and request for assistance from other departments.
• Guard and escort monies to specific locations throughout the facility and safe guard the nightly drop of monies and tickets from the VLT machines.
• Strategically posted at visible locations throughout the facility to deter incidents and remain accessible to guests.
• Possess knowledge of all Twin River Casino facilities
• Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance.
• Checks identification of individuals entering Twin River in compliance with Rhode Island state law.
• Prepare security reports, communicate with guests, outside agencies, and assist in employee investigations.
• Provide security for special events, fights, parties, employee events, and tournaments
• Act as escorts for guests, employees, outside agencies, transportation of injured employees, and disabled guests.
• Rove self-parking lots, valet, and exterior of casino.
• Act quickly in emergency response which includes injured guests and employees, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests.
• Observe and report any hazardous, dangerous or unsafe conditions that may cause injury to guests and/or employees.
• Assist fire, police, or other law enforcement agency in their official capacity when responding to or investigating incidents within the facility.
• Patrol and monitor entrances, gaming floor, and bar areas for the control of alcohol consumption.
• Monitor the physical access control for the facility verifying authorization and issuing visitor and employee access badges in accordance with the Department of Business Regulations and Rhode Island Lottery.
• When appropriate detain and retrain persons that have or are about to commit a crime or present danger.
• When appropriate eject persons who are in violations of company policies and procedures.

Rhode Island Pistol Permit

Must be able to be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations, as well as be able to complete a background check performed by them.

Active, or former, military personnel with an honorable discharge and a minimum of three (3) years of service, who either have appropriate law enforcement training and experience consistent with civilian law enforcement experience.Armed or unarmed security guards, in good standing, who have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience with a reputable security services firm approved by the Director and satisfactorily complete the training requirements.

Security agents must also be current or former correctional officers with a minimum of two (2) years of on the-job experience, in good standing, and graduates of the Correction Officers Training Academy; current or former U.S. Department of Homeland Security personnel who have received appropriate law enforcement training and have a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience.

Security agents shall be current or former law enforcement officers, in good standing, with a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. They will have a certificate of completion from a law enforcement academy approved by the Director.

Constantly stand, walk several hundred feet, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop.Constantly use manual dexterity, following directions, adhere to detail.Frequently use eye/hand coordination.
