Job summary

Chenega Professional Services Strategic Business Unit is seeking disciplined, mission-focused security professionals for guarding federal facilities and personnel in the Washington, DC area. You will perform access control, inspections, and armed patrols to deter threats and ensure safety.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate English proficiency, act with sound judgment, and maintain composure in emergencies while coordinating with law enforcement and security leadership as needed.

Qualifications

• Background and drug screening successfully completed.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Two years of relevant security experience.
• Active DCJS Armed Security Officer Registration.

Responsibilities

• Protect federal personnel, visitors, facilities, and assets from threats.
• Maintain a visible security presence and deter criminal activity.
• Control access by verifying credentials and authorization status.
• Conduct inspections of personnel, vehicles, packages, and facilities.
• Perform armed security patrols on foot and by vehicle.
• Monitor and enforce access control procedures and security policies.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security-related events.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and security leadership during incidents.
• Exercise force, when authorized, per laws and policies.
• Prepare incident reports and daily activity records.
• Operate radios, security systems, and access control equipment.
