Job summary

DK Security, Inc. in Michigan is seeking an Armed Security Officer to safeguard site buildings, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors. Duties include access control, foot and vehicle patrols, and responding to incidents.

This role is tied to critical infrastructure, including military bases, and requires vigilance and professionalism on every shift. Candidates must hold a valid Michigan CPL, be at least 21, and pass drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067
• Must have a current, valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter
• May not have any felony convictions and must pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Customer Relations - work with clients, resident families, and residents
• Access Control - ensure only authorized individuals enter the site
• Camera Monitoring - monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns
• Foot Patrol - patrol inside and outside buildings on site
• Mobile Patrol - patrol parking lots and exterior areas in a security vehicle
• Monitor Fire Alarms - ensure alarms function correctly
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and leadership
• Observe and report activities and incidents at client locations
• Guard posts at lobbies, gates, reception areas, and control centers
• Conduct periodic foot patrols of assigned locations
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas
• Maintain a safe environment and enforce site policies
• Check employee and vendor identifications
• Identify suspicious persons, packages, and activities
• Respond to emergencies
• Maintain communication with clients and operations managers
