+ Department: Security

+ Schedule: PRN, 8 hour shifts 7am - 3:30pm, 3pm - 11:30pm, or 11pm - 7:30am, additional weekend shifts available

+ Hospital: Ascension Via Christi Hospitals

+ Location: Wichita, KS

Benefit options and eligibility vary by position. Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance and salary range at the time of the offer.

Responsibilities

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

  1. Perform proactive monitoring of and timely response to potential/actual security threats.
  2. Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
  3. Maintain knowledge/follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
  4. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
  5. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  1. Security Guard obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  2. Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles required.
  3. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  4. Law Enforcement preferred.
  5. Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.
  6. Security Professional preferred.

Education:

  1. High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  2. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

  1. Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience preferred.
  2. Conflict resolution experience is a plus.
