Qualifications

• Valid firearms permit preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Background check conducted as required by laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing may be required by state/local regulations.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

As an Armed Security Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, entrances, adjacent perimeters, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following applicable post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe passenger and employee activity for unusual conditions, reporting security-related concerns promptly to designated personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and observations in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
