Job Summary :

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves interacting with people professionally, emphasizing excellent service and customer relations. The officer should have knowledge of the use of deadly physical force and work closely with staff, law enforcement, and other agencies.

Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and employees, regardless of cultural background.

Patrol Activity :

• Direct visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations and intervene to prevent disturbances.
• Protect and safeguard all persons on SEH property.

Customer Relations :

• Assist patients and visitors with wayfinding and general inquiries during routine security duties.
• Communicate clearly and courteously, using de-escalation techniques when necessary.

Operations Center :

• Monitor activity via CCTV and alarm systems.
• Handle radio and phone communications effectively.

Documentation and Reporting :

• Complete reports, logs, and data entries professionally.
• Review daily communications and pertinent information.
• Use photographic documentation to support reports when appropriate.

Training :

• Complete mandatory departmental training.
• Maintain firearms and other related trainings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses :

• High School Diploma or GED, with applicable Criminal Justice experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.

Specialized Knowledge :

• Completion of an accredited police academy firearms course, or similar training.
• Pass psychological evaluation.
• Complete weapons retention training.

Experience :

• 6 months of SEH Security Officer 1 experience, or
• Current Sworn Law Enforcement Officer, or
• Honorably discharged military member.
