Job Summary:

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, with an emphasis on professional service and customer relations. The officer should have knowledge of the use of deadly physical force and work closely with staff, law enforcement, and other agencies. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions regardless of cultural background.

Job Description:

Patrol Activity:

• Direct visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations and intervene to prevent disturbances.
• Protect and safeguard all persons on SEH property.

Customer Relations:

• Provide way-finding and assistance during routine security duties.
• Relate to customers professionally, communicate clearly, and de-escalate situations appropriately.

Operations Center:

• Monitor activity via CCTV and alarm systems.
• Handle radio and telephone communications effectively.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Complete reports, logs, and data entries professionally.
• Review daily communications and use photographic documentation when needed.

Training:

• Complete mandatory and firearms training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant Criminal Justice experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Complete accredited firearms or military training.
• Pass psychological evaluation and weapons retention training.

Experience:

• 6 months of SEH Security Officer 1 experience, or
• Current sworn law enforcement officer, or
• Honorably discharged Armed Forces member.
