Job summary

Diversified Protection Corporation is seeking an Armed Security Officer for the 3rd shift in East Greenwich, RI. The role runs Friday through Monday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, protecting people and property and enforcing access control in government-related environments.

Candidates must be 21+, possess RI driver and carry licenses, and have or be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance. Prior armed security or law enforcement experience is preferred; a pre-employment screen is required.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Rhode Island driver's license.
• Possess a valid Rhode Island license to carry.
• DoD Secret Clearance required (sponsorship available if needed).
• Previous armed security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass an initial physical fitness test.

Responsibilities

• Performs security patrols.
• Enforces access control procedures.
• Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
• Investigates and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in following the department's procedures.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

This position is for 3 rd shift (overnight) Full Time

11:00 PM to 7:00 AM - Friday-Monday.

Objective

Security Officers are required to protect property, including people, information, and classified material, from theft, diversion, sabotage, espionage, unauthorized access and control, and other acts that may impact national security. Security Officers enforce specific laws regarding the protection of government property, traffic control, parking, and making criminal and accident investigations.

Essential Functions

Read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public. Maintaining a professional, discreet and courteous demeanor under stressful situations, security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports in the English language as necessary.
