Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide dependable, flexible hours at an assigned site and to support our level of service.

As part of the role, you can earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, while maintaining a fixed anchor shift and the potential to grow toward a fuller schedule within part-time hours.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government office location.
• Maintain an armed presence in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies; report observed concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; request additional assistance and support emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, entry points, public-facing spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access activity, verify visitor authorization as directed, maintain accurate daily activity reports, and document incidents using site-required procedures.
