Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Brooklyn, NY. This Armed Security Guard Medical Facility Lobby Area Patrol role offers fixed anchor shifts with additional pick-up opportunities through our scheduling platform.

Pay is $42.00 per hour, with day and night shifts, supporting a flexible schedule and potential progression to full-time. Minimum requirements include valid licenses and high school diploma, plus background checks and drug screening as required.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, reporting suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in a timely and accurate manner.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License.

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
