Allied Universal in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Security Officer for a medical facility lobby area control. You will provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors, monitor entrances, perform patrols, and respond to incidents with calm, professional judgment.

This full-time, unarmed position requires a New York State Security Guard License, high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• New York State Security Guard License required.
• 18 years of age or older for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories where permitted by law.
• A drug screen will be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following site protocols.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, checking credentials, directing visitors, and reporting unauthorized access.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate with supervisors and campus stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other members of the campus community while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific response protocols.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, checking credentials when assigned, directing visitors, and reporting unauthorized access concerns.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
