Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Brooklyn, NY. This role offers flexible hours with fixed anchor shifts and the possibility to pick up extra shifts via the scheduling platform.

Paid at $18.87 per hour. The schedule is Sundays from 12:00 AM to 08:00 AM, with opportunities to scale to up to 40 hours per week and grow into full-time roles through training programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and concerns in a calm, professional manner and document observations.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of assigned site areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, vendor, and resident entry procedures per site policy.
• Report maintenance issues and security concerns to site personnel and supervision.

Pay Rate: $18.87/ Hour

Job Schedule: Sun 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and actions according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exits, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, vendor, and resident entry procedures in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, suspicious activity, and other security‑related concerns to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
