Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable security services at a cultural institution. You will uphold site policies, monitor access, and respond to incidents during services and events.

The role offers flexible shifts with anchor schedules, opportunities to pick up additional shifts, and a base pay rate of $42.00 per hour. Prior licensing and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, congregants, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, entry points, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and assist with visitor management in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Maintain awareness of activities during services, events, and programs, documenting and reporting incidents, observations, and policy concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

As a Security Guard - House of Worship Foot Patrol in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $42.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
