Job summary

Silver Star Protection Group is seeking an Armed Security Guard in Columbus, OH to provide on-site security at client locations. The role requires carrying a firearm with a level 2 retention holster, OPOTA certification, and strong situational awareness.

You may work various shifts, including weekends, with duties that adapt to client needs. Responsibilities include patrols, surveillance monitoring, incident documentation, and professional interaction with clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Active OPOTA required.
• Must own a firearm with a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Previous armed security or related experience preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Capability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at the assigned client site, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Be available to work various shifts and client sites as needed. Schedule and locations may change depending on client needs, staffing requirements, or other operational factors.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff. Ensure that all communication fosters a positive and secure environment.
• Conduct regular patrols of the assigned site and monitor surveillance equipment, ensuring adherence to the client’s security protocols.
• Accurately document any incidents, security breaches, or irregularities, and promptly report them to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.
• Additional duties as assigned by Silver Star leadership team.
