Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Security Officer – Armed Deescalation Enhanced (Part Time). The role offers reliable, fixed shifts with an anchor schedule and opportunities to pick up extra shifts to raise earnings.

Pay rate is $26.62 per hour. You’ll carry defensive equipment and firearms, meet minimum certifications, and participate in training to support students, staff and community safety.

Qualifications

• Armed guard card and/or license required.
• Handcuffing certification preferred.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• Baton certification preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Armed roles require be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass background check and drug screening as per laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while carrying out security-related procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with school admins, first responders, and law enforcement as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity and policy violations following procedures.
• Carry and maintain assigned defensive equipment and firearms in compliance with policies and laws.

As a Security Officer Armed Deescalation Enhanced Part Time in Ashburn, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.62 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 03:30 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while carrying out security-related procedures, school-specific policies, and emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.


• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem‑solving manner, coordinating with school administrators, first responders, and/or law enforcement as appropriate.


• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and security-related incidents according to established procedures.


• Carry and maintain assigned defensive equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements, and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.


• Handcuffing certification is preferred.


• Pepper spray certification is preferred.


• Baton certification is preferred.


• CPR certification is preferred.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
