Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part-Time Security Officer in Ashburn, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors, and help deter security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner following school district protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or facility concerns, and communicate with school personnel and emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and daily activity documentation per site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

Job Schedule:

• Mon 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Tue 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school district protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or facility concerns, and maintain clear communication with appropriate school personnel and emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and daily activity documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
