Job summary

Cardinal Point Security Group is seeking an Armed School Security Officer in Exton, PA. The role safeguards students, staff, and facilities, requiring PA Act 235 certification, a PA Concealed Carry Permit, and a firearm with a Level 3 holster.

Schedule: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, seven days a week, rotating days off. Applicants should have at least five years of armed security experience, a clean background, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while communicating effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of armed security experience.
• Valid PA Act 235 Certification.
• Valid PA Concealed Carry Permit.
• Own firearm that meets requirements and a Level 3 holster.
• Ability to pass firearms qualification course.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Consent to drug screen and background investigation.
• No felonies or crimes involving moral turpitude.
• Reliable transportation and English comprehension.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: be on time, look sharp, be engaged.
• Patrol school facilities and grounds, up to 10,000 steps per day.
• Coach and mentor students.
• Manage incidents and de-escalate verbally.
• Maintain orderly hall traffic.
• Monitor restrooms and report concerns.
• Act as first responder for emergencies.
• Monitor access control and CCTV.
• Liaise with staff to identify suspicious activity.
• Develop positive relationships with staff and students.

Armed School Security Officer $30.00 per hour – Act 235 required – Exton, PA Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Location: Exton, PA

Basic Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of five years of armed security experience
• Must possess prior experience in any of the following: Municipal Police Officer, State Trooper, Federal Police Officer, Military Police and/or Master at Arms, Military experience with a rank requiring a sidearm
• Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification
• Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
• Must possess your own firearm that meets requirements and a Level 3 holster
• Must be able to pass firearms qualification course.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Consent to a drug screen and completing criminal background investigation.
• Consent to obtain required clearances for working in school.
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access)
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written)
• Reliable means of transportation
• Must possess a professional and courteous demeanor.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Walks up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism
• Coach and mentor students
• Incident Management and verbal de-escalation
• Maintains orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways
• Monitors restrooms throughout the day
• Reports on maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
• Act as First responder for emergencies
• Stands post at secondary locations as required
• Identify and report suspicious activity
• Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students
