A school security company in Pennsylvania is hiring Unarmed School Security Officers to protect students and staff. The role includes patrolling school facilities, managing incidents, and maintaining a positive presence within the school community. Candidates must have at least 3 years of security experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. This position offers training to become a Certified School Security Professional, competitive pay of $18.00 per hour, and a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional weekend events.

Location

Abington, PA

Pay Rate

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Schedule includes after-school and occasional weekend events when required. This position follows the school calendar, with 2 months off during the summer.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Stands post at assigned location and secondary locations as required.
• Patrol school facilities (inside and outside) and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism, often taking up to 10,000 steps each shift.
• Incident Management and verbal de‑escalation.
• Monitors flow of traffic during pickup hours.
• Act as first responder for emergencies.
• Identify and report suspicious activity.
• Completes daily activity reports and incident reports as required.
• Access Control.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Security experience working in a school environment, or have experience as a Sworn Police Officer, Military, or Corrections Officer.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Complete all training required to become a Certified School Security Professional.
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access).
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written).
• Reliable means of transportation.
