Job summary

Fortis Group is hiring an on-call/part-time School Safety Officer for various locations in the United States. Monday–Friday days with possible evenings or weekend events. Pay is $30.00 per hour, with overtime paid after 8 hours.

The SSO protects school property and students by enforcing safety policies, providing armed deterrence, and liaising with law enforcement. Training and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CJ degree preferred.
• State-certified active or former law enforcement officer with 5+ years experience.
• Valid CPL and strong marksmanship; able to pass background check.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to security incidents and emergencies; report to authorities.
• Patrol grounds and interiors; monitor entrances and parking.
• Conduct safety drills and liaise with law enforcement.
• Maintain incident logs and follow management directions.
