Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks a Public Safety Officer I - Armed at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. 40 hours weekly, PM/Nights with two 12s and two 8s per week, 7 pm to 7:30 am. Hourly pay range $22.90–$34.35.

This role emphasizes patient safety, professional demeanor, and collaboration with medical staff and law enforcement. Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to incidents, de‑escalation, and enforcing safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of security/public safety experience preferred.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, and assessments.
• Strong de-escalation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services with professionalism and customer focus.
• Patrol interiors and exteriors to identify hazards.
• Assist with traffic control and directing visitors.
• De-escalate conflicts and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders.
