Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer I – Armed at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. This full-time, 2nd-shift role (~2pm-10pm) includes weekends and requires armed credentials and strong safety leadership.

You will patrol, de-escalate conflicts, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with law enforcement while ensuring patient and staff safety in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Typically requires 1 year of security/public safety experience.
• Must be able to obtain required licensure for armed security.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services with professionalism and compassion in line with policies and training.
• Maintain a professional appearance, de-escalate conflicts, and assist patients, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct interior/exterior patrols, identify hazards, and enforce safety rules.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and service calls with appropriate use of force when necessary.
• Document incidents clearly and coordinate with leadership for follow-up.
