Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors and to respond to emergencies within the facility. You will de-escalate critical events with sound judgment and coordinate with first responders.

Responsibilities include safeguarding property, enforcing safety policies, and maintaining composure while handling combative or escalating individuals in accordance with Piedmont's procedures.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in general security or public safety, with firearm carry requirement or equivalent training.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain all required certifications.
• Must possess and maintain firearms, Taser, and baton training as directed.

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
