Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a security officer to perform routine safety and emergency security duties and act as first responder to incidents within the facility.

Responsibilities include safeguarding people and property, de-escalation of critical events, and using sound judgment when engaging with combative individuals; must complete certifications such as IAHSS and firearms as required.

This full-time role requires standing patrols, reporting, and adherence to Piedmont's safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in general security or public safety preferred and able to carry a firearm when required.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain trainings.

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
