Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) in St. Paul, MN is seeking an Armed Detention Officer to ensure the safety of detainees and the public, operating on-site under a contract with government facilities.

The role requires a state security guard license, a DHS/ICE clearance, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid firearm license. You will perform detention, processing, and escort duties, maintain logs, and comply with Use of Force policies.

Qualifications

• Speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check.
• Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Guard detainees and protect government facilities.
• Qualify on firearms twice yearly and up to four times annually as required.
• Complete training, maintain fitness, and follow contract duties.
• Perform detention, processing, guarding, security, and escort duties as required.
• Maintain logs and conduct area sanitation checks before shift changes.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report issues promptly.
