Job summary

Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) in Phoenix is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead strategic outreach and client engagement for job creation and capital investment across Arizona. This hybrid role, based in Phoenix, requires residency in the Phoenix metro area.

Base compensation ranges from $100k to $115k, depending on experience. The role oversees end-to-end business development from lead generation to deal closure, collaborating with internal teams and statewide partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, marketing, public administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five years in business development, economic development, or related field.
• Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects from start to finish.
• Ability to build relationships with C-suite and public/private sector partners.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a proactive business development strategy for assigned industry sectors, including lead generation and pipeline development.
• Maintain regular engagement with Arizona-based employers, including quarterly outreach to support retention and expansion.
• Lead end-to-end client/project management through site selection and decision-making processes.
• Present competitive state and local value propositions and workforce solutions to clients.
• Build partnerships with communities, utilities, and educational institutions to support project success.
• Deliver data-driven presentations that articulate Arizona's competitive advantages to executives.
• Collaborate with leadership to negotiate and close deals.
• Coordinate with research and marketing to inform strategy and outreach.
• Stay informed on Arizona’s economic landscape and industry trends.
