Job summary

City of Dayton is seeking an Airport Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Supervisor to oversee fire prevention and suppression across Aviation facilities in Dayton. You will direct protection operations to minimize loss and ensure EMS as needed, providing emergency care and ARFF rescue for aircraft personnel.

The role requires managing emergency responses to alarms, aircraft alerts, and hazmat incidents, with supervisory duties aligned to policies and laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or related field with 4 years firefighting experience including 1 year ARFF.
• Associate degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, Business Management, Emergency Medical Services or related field with 4 years firefighting experience including 3 years ARFF.
• High School Diploma (or GED) with 8 years as ARFF. Accredited by US Dept of Education through NCA/HL Commission or equivalent region.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire prevention and suppression at City of Dayton Aviation facilities.
• Direct protection operations to minimize loss of life and property and ensure EMS services as needed.
• Provide emergency care for people and aircraft passenger/crew rescue.
• Direct emergency responses to fire alarms, aircraft alerts, and hazardous materials incidents.
• As a management team member, perform supervisory duties per policies and laws.
• Must perform all approved medical care techniques per GGMVEMSC ARFF division or medical advisors.
