Job summary

City of Norfolk in Virginia seeks a Crew Leader for CFAE Operations to supervise daily event operations at city venues, ensure safety, and coordinate setup plans. You will act as a facility representative before and after events to support seamless operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with arena equipment, scheduling, budgeting, and customer service, plus forklift certification. 40h/week with flexible hours and city benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Four years of work experience.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Three years of event experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the crew by generating guidelines, layouts, and setup plans and supervise daily operations.
• Oversee tools, staging, equipment storage, maintenance, and repairs; coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Supervise staff, coordinate training, and participate in interviews.
• Coordinate event logistics with the event team and manage inventory.
• Direct staff during events and handle customer service and inquiries.
• Prepare estimates of operating costs and manage supplies and budget considerations.
