Job summary

Saint Paul Arena Company is seeking a Custodian Lead (Conversions) to supervise the Arena Conversion Team, coordinating the transformation from one event type to another and overseeing custodial functions, setup, and teardown in a fast-paced environment.

The Lead Custodian provides guidance to full-time, casual, and contracted staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards while coordinating maintenance tasks and event support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in arena/convention center operations is preferred.
• Experience leading/supervising a diverse work group, up to 100 staff during peak operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew in conversion, custodial, and building maintenance duties.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate objectives for cleaning and conversions.
• Set up and tear down arena elements (glass, risers, dasher boards, ice deck).
• Oversee cleaning and maintenance tasks and ensure safety/quality standards.
• Operate and train staff on cleaning equipment and motorized tools.
• Time reporting and payroll sign-in for staff.
• Coordinate outside maintenance and assist with waste management.
• Communicate sustainability policies across departments.
