Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking a Bar Supervisor to oversee arena alcohol service across multiple bar locations, including portables and Premium areas. The role requires a personable, adaptable candidate able to train staff, manage inventory, and support events.

Schedule alignment with business needs and attendance is essential. The position is part-time with benefits such as 401(k) savings and matching; compensation runs at a rate of $18.50–$20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Possess a valid food handling certificate & alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper setup of all bar locations prior to doors.
• Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise, resulting in the smooth, efficient, and profitable execution of events.
• Training new & current employees with regard to property procedure & best practices.
• Willing to cover/back up any open position to assure the location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met.
• Assist with Premium Services operations and event needs, as directed.
• Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination.
• Immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents, or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to management immediately.
• Ensure event staff are aware of workplace expectations; provide ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring to event staff.
• Promote a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative workplace environment by working side-by-side with staff.
• Reinforce procedures and practices through repetition; lead by example and provide ongoing constructive feedback.
• Maintain working knowledge of all existing Bar locations: geographical locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access.
• Responsible for supervising the service of beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages.
• Check the guest's ID to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
• Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of the event.
• Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to cut off alcohol to such individuals.
• Enforces all company policies and procedures.
• Assists the management team with projects including training, inventory, and special events.
