Job summary

ResMed is seeking a seasoned Area Manager to lead all shipping, receiving, storing of materials and finished goods operations. You will drive safety, quality, customer experience and productivity across a union-influenced warehouse team.

You will oversee labor planning, training, and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring timely material flow and accurate inventory with strong leadership of the hourly workforce and adherence to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Prior WMS experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of federal and local OSHA safety regulations related to warehousing and shipping environments.

Responsibilities

• Support all safety programs ensuring a safe work environment
• Review forecasts and determine labor needs to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives
• Meet with team on a daily basis to balance labor ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting daily deadlines
• Foster an environment that harbors continuous improvement and the elimination of non-value added activities
• Ensure proper training of staff in order to effectively and efficiently meet customer demand
• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Ensure materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specification, and shipped in a timely manner
• Ensure quality objectives are met while operating within the allocated budget and meeting delivery deadlines while being flexible and working efficiently
• Manage inventory control to ensure accountability of materials and goods
• Establish appropriate communications with team to align focus and efforts with organizational and customer needs
• Establish and/or modify operational methods and procedures as needed
• Recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve area of responsibility or organization as a whole
• Maintain documentation and prepare reports that reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities
• Establish and manage goals for self and/or team that meet or exceed departmental objectives
• Collaborate with peer group, senior management, and field personnel to problem solve and/or resolves issues among functional areas, other sites, or customers and the company
• Manage and sustain product traceability systems, utilizing WMS/Oracle, to support customer and quality requirements
• Ensure health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment overseeing that inspection and maintenance of equipment is done on a regular basis
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
