Job summary

ResMed is seeking an Area Manager to lead shipping, receiving, and inventory operations at our Georgia facility. You will balance labor, safety, quality, and productivity while guiding a team to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Weekend hours are Friday to Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

You will mentor hourly staff, ensure materials flow from vendors to inventory to finished goods, and maintain product traceability via WMS and Oracle. Strong OSHA knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Experience implementing inventory control systems and continuous improvement programs.
  • Proficient in MS Office and warehouse software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations for warehousing and shipping environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support safety programs and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Forecast labor needs and manage staffing to meet targets.
  • Lead daily team meetings to balance labor and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure materials are received, stored, and shipped per specifications.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and product traceability in WMS/Oracle.
  • Coach and motivate hourly staff while controlling costs and improving quality.
  • Develop and implement operative procedures and process improvements.
  • Prepare reports reflecting department effectiveness and efficiency.

The Area Manager will be responsible for the management of all activities and personnel related to shipping, receiving, storing of materials and/or finished goods. You will contribute to the development of a workplace culture that reflects ResMed's organizational values, standards, core competencies and behaviors.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities:

  • Support all safety programs ensuring a safe work environment

  • Review forecasts and determine labor needs to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives

  • Meet with team on a daily basis to balance labor ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting daily deadlines

  • Foster an environment that harbors continuous improvement and the elimination of non-value added activities

  • Ensure proper training of staff in order to effectively and efficiently meet customer demand

  • Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce

  • Ensure materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specification, and shipped in a timely manner

  • Ensure quality objectives are met while operating within the allocated budget and meeting delivery deadlines while being flexible and working efficiently

  • Manage inventory control to ensure accountability of materials and goods

  • Establish appropriate communications (content and frequency) with team to align focus and efforts with organizational and customer needs.

  • Establish and/or modify operational methods and procedures as needed

  • Recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve area of responsibility or organization as a whole

  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports that reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities

  • Establish and manage goals for self and/or team that meet or exceed departmental objectives

  • Collaborate with peer group, senior management, and field personnel to problem solve and/or resolves issues among functional areas, other sites, or customers and the company

  • Manage and sustain product traceability systems, utilizing WMS/Oracle, to support customer and quality requirements

  • Ensure health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment overseeing that inspection and maintenance of equipment is done on a regular basis

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a warehouse/distribution environment

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Must have demonstrated experience in implementing inventory control systems, distribution operations programs and continual improvement programs

  • Strong familiarity with MS Office applications

  • Prior WMS experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal and local OSHA safety regulations related to warehousing and shipping environments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must possess a customer-centric commitment to build and maintain customer relationships

  • Energetic, self-motivated, and quick thinking with a positive attitude

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with Oracle or comparable Supply Chain/Logistics systems

  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System

Job Environment:

Warehouse environment. Incumbent will walk and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 40lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
